Carjacker Steals Man's Car Wednesday Morning In Woodlawn

WOODLAWN — A man was held up and had his car stolen on Wednesday night, according to University of Chicago police.

According to university police, at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday a man was getting into his car parked on 61st Street between Kenwood and Dorchester avenues when a person came up behind him, pressed an object into his back and demanded the keys.

The man told police he handed over the keys and the man drove off in his car west down 61st Street.

No one was injured, according to police.

University police were not able to provide a description of the alleged car thief.
