HYDE PARK — Jolly Pumpkin Brewery in Michigan announced Tuesday night it would open its first location in Illinois in Hyde Park next year.

The restaurant and brewery will open a 5,800-square-foot pub-style restaurant at 1504 E. Harper Court in the Harper Court development in late spring, early summer of 2017.

“We’re excited to expand our restaurants outside of Michigan,” said Ron Jeffries, a partner in parent company Northern United Brewing Company, in the announcement. “Hyde Park is the perfect location for us, the vibrant neighborhood shares an eclectic vibe with that of our company and Chicago’s craft beer scene parallels some of the greatest in the United States.”

The Hyde Park location will be the brewery’s fourth and its first outside of Michigan, with locations in Traverse City, Ann Arbor and Detroit.

The restaurant said it will be sure to have its golden ale Oro de Calabaza on tap, as well as 30 other beers and ciders, as well as wines and craft cocktails.

Each location has its own menu and Jolly Pumpkin has not yet said what will be served at the Hyde Park location. A hamburger, truffle fries, pizzas and “perfect chicken sandwich” are on the menu at all locations.
