HYDE PARK — Police are searching for two men who shot a 36-year-old man while he was sitting in his car on Saturday in Hyde Park.

The 36-year-old man was sitting in his car near 54th Street and Maryland Avenue at 6 p.m. Saturday when two men came up to his car and shot him in both legs and the buttocks, according to police.

The two men then ran north and into a vacant building on the 5300 block of South Maryland Avenue, where police later found two handguns, according to police reports.

The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and police listed his condition as “stable.”

Police could not provide a description of either man and said no one was in custody.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the detectives at 312-747-8380.
