IRVING PARK — A 20-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times Sunday night in Irving Park, police said.

According to police, the man was walking on the sidewalk of the 3600 block of North Sawyer Avenue at approximately 9 p.m. when someone in a black Jeep fired shots.

The victim was taken to Illinois Masonic hospital with gunshot wounds to his chest and right arm, police said.

No one is in custody.

Accounts of the incident, posted to social media, suggest the victim was a passenger in a vehicle when the shooting took place, and wound up near Pet Supplies Plus at 3640 N. Elston Ave.
