CHICAGO — A shooting in Woodlawn left Davon Smith, 26, dead on Saturday, police said.
At 4:25 a.m., Smith was in the 6100 block of South Rhodes Avenue when a car drove up and someone inside fired shots and drove away, police said.
Smith was hit in his neck and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.
Smith, of the 3500 block of South Indiana, was pronounced dead at 4:45 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died of multiple gunshot wounds.
No one was in custody.
