Englewood, Auburn Gresham Shootings Wound 3 People, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings in Englewood and Auburn Gresham left three people wounded between Friday and early Saturday, police said.

• At 12:26 a.m. Saturday, a 26-year-old man was shot in Auburn Gresham, police said. The man was at a party in the 8800 block of South Marshfield Avenue when several people fired shots through the window and door.

The man was hit multiple times, including in his abdomen, and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, police said. No one else was injured.

• At 12:30 p.m. Friday, a 19-year-old man was shot in Englewood, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was in a courtyard in the 7000 block of South Sangamon Street when a gray car stopped and the driver fired shots and drove off.

The man was hit in his left leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, Lemmon said.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

• At 11:15 a.m., a 29-year-old man was shot and wounded in West Englewood.

No one was in custody.
