WEST LOOP — On his walk back from a CAPS meeting Thursday night, West Loop neighbor Bob Aiken noticed new colorful graffiti on the sidewalk below him.

The graffiti, located on a sidewalk just north of the old Coyne College campus on Green Street, appears to read "West Loop is for p------." Or perhaps, "West Loop is for F------" — the red "p" isn't fully formed.
"I guess we'll have to ask the artist themself," joked Aiken, vice president of Neighbors of West Loop.
As the co-coordinator of CAPS Beat 1214, Aiken said that the most annoying part wasn't the West Loop diss — it was that the graffiti was defacing a pristine new stretch of sidewalk just completed this summer. He called 311 and hoped the city will clean it up soon.
During his 10 years living in the West Loop, Aiken has seen his fair share of graffiti tags in the neighborhood, but this is the first time someone has written something "disparaging" about the booming West Loop, he said.
Given the timing, it's also entirely possible the new graffiti aims to rip Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump or is part of the national wave of feminist action women are organizing in protest of Trump's crude words.
"It's an annoyance more than anything," Aiken said. "It was not nice to come across."
Sterling Bay now owns the old Coyne College site, and seeks to build a 400,000-square-foot office building in its place.
