CHICAGO — A 22-year-old man was wounded in a West Englewood shooting Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

The man was sitting in front of a house in the 5600 block of South Damen Avenue at 2:49 p.m. when someone walked up and fired shots, said Officer Kevin Quaid, a Chicago Police spokesman.

He was struck once in his right leg and four times in his buttocks and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.
