Man Points Gun At Clown In Chicago In Latest 'Clown Sighting'

CHICAGO — A new video shows someone pointing a gun at a clown in what appears to be the latest in a string of "creepy clown" sightings.

The video has been watched more than 100,000 times on Instagram and was shared more than 40,000 times across multiple accounts on Twitter. It shows a man dressed as a clown standing on a sidewalk while someone in a car records him.

"Look at this clown," an unseen person says while someone points a gun at the clown. "Get your a-- out of there, motherf---er. ... Leave these kids alone, b----."

The clown hesitates and looks back at the gun before running away while putting up his hand.

The video was also posted to YouTube, where the poster said rappers Billionaire Black and FBG Duck had caught a "clown raper man trying to rape kids and up [a] gun on him." The rappers, who shared the video on Twitter, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

"We just caught a clown in the 100s f---in w[ith] people," the rapper known as Billionaire Black wrote on an Instagram post of the video.

Police said they did not immediately have information about the incident, and it was unclear if the video was staged.

People across the United States have reported sightings of clowns over the last few weeks, although many have been false reports or hoaxes. Last week, a UIC student who was doing performance art was detained by police after other students mistook him for a suspicious clown on campus. Ald. Patrick Thompson (11th) has suggested people end their trick-or-treating by 8 p.m. on Halloween because of the clown reports.
