NORTH PARK — Northeastern Illinois University's Stage Center Theatre mounts a timely production of David Mamet's political parody "November" this week.

Mamet's fiction is perhaps only marginally stranger than the campaign now playing out in real life, but at least the laughs are intentional as the playwright skewers the election-year antics of Charles Smith (played by Nathan Lane during the show's Broadway run), a sitting president who's far from guaranteed a second term.

"November" bows Thursday and runs through Oct. 22, at 3701 W. Bryn Mawr Ave.

Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 773-442-4630. The cost is $10 general admission, $8 for seniors and non-NEIU students, $6 for children 12 and under, and free for NEIU students, staff and faculty.
