IRVING PARK — No need to head to the country to get your fill of old-fashioned fall harvest fun — there are plenty of pumpkin patches to choose from close to home.

The Athletic Field Park Advisory Council is hosting its annual Fall Fest from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 3546 W. Addison St. The event features a pumpkin patch, pony rides, a petting zoo, music, face painting and food. Admission is free, but there is a charge for food, activities and pumpkins.

Eugene Field Park's Cornucopia Fall Festival & Craft Fair is set for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 15, 5100 N. Ridgeway Ave. Admission is free, but expect to pay for food and activities. Participating food trucks include Kate & Jan HotDogs and Beavers Donuts. Kids activities include inflatables, petting zoo, pony rides, balloon artists and more. The event also includes a pumpkin patch and local craft vendors.

Check out Friends of Jahn's pumpkin patch, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 15, 3149 N. Wolcott Ave. For $10 per person or $25 per family, enjoy arts and crafts, a petting zoo, inflatables, School of Rock, games and more. Food and pumpkins are available at additional cost.

The Ravenswood Farmers Market is closing out its inaugural year with a "fall finale," 4-8 p.m. Oct. 26, 4900 N. Damen Ave. Pick up seasonal produce and enjoy kids activities, live music and pumpkin carving.

Lincoln Square's farmers markets are also a good bet for pumpkin picking. The Tuesday morning market, 7 a.m.-1 p.m., continues through Oct. 25 at Lincoln and Leland avenues.

The Thursday evening market, 4-7 p.m., runs through Oct. 27, also at Lincoln and Leland. Admission is free to both markets.
