BEVERLY — Road construction on 107th Street between Western Avenue and Walden Parkway is expected to begin next week.

The Department of Transportation will resurface the road, likely beginning Oct. 11, according to a staff member in Ald. Matt O'Shea's office.

The project is expected to be completed by Nov. 21, provided the weather cooperates and coordination with utilities along the route goes smoothly, the staffer said.

Traffic controllers will allow motorists to continue to use 107th street in both directions during the construction period. But parking will be periodically restricted in the construction area, the staffer said.

Meanwhile, construction on 103rd street will be complete by Monday. The project that began July 11 replaced the water main from Western to Seeley avenues.

Finally, construction at the intersection of 115th Street and Pulaski Road in Mount Greenwood is expected to wrap up early next month. This project adds turning lanes in both directions for drivers headed east and west.

There's a possibility that temporary signals will be used at the intersection until next year, but crews are hoping to install permanent signals before wrapping up the project, the staffer said.
