CHICAGO — Carl Jackson, 56, was gunned down in Auburn Gresham on Friday, police said.
At 5:25 p.m., Jackson was in the 1000 block of West 77th Street when someone chased him into the hallway of an apartment, where he was shot multiple times, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.
Jackson was taken to Stroger Hospital, Estrada said. Jackson, of the 1000 block of West 77th Street, was pronounced dead at 5:45 p.m., according to Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records.
No one was in custody.
