By Kelly Bauer | September 23, 2016 8:34am

CHICAGO — A 58-year-old woman shot in Woodlawn on Thursday afternoon was not the intended target, police said.

At 1:15 p.m., witnesses said they saw two groups of men shooting at each other across an empty lot in the 400 block of East 63rd Street when the woman was hit, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The woman was hit in her left foot and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center. Her condition was not available, but she was listed as "stable," Pacheco said.
