CHICAGO — Two men were killed and another 15 people were wounded in shootings around the city between Wednesday morning and Thursday morning, police said.

Eric Banks, 25, was shot to death in Washington Park early Wednesday afternoon.

Early Thursday morning, a 48-year-old man was killed and another man was wounded less than a half-mile from where Banks was gunned down.

• In the most recent non-fatal shooting, around 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning, a 39-year-old man was standing in the 0-100 block of West 112th Place in Roseland when he heard gunshots and felt pain, according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was considered stable after being shot in his arm and stomach, Lemmon said. No further information about the man's condition was available.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• At 3:10 a.m. Thursday, a man was shot in his leg in University Village on the Near West Side.

• At 10:10 p.m. Wednesday night, three men were standing at the intersection of 79th Street and King Drive in Chatham when someone shot at them from a passing black car, according to a police incident report.

One man, 30, was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition after being shot multiple times, police said.

Another man, 32, was shot in his right leg and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

A third man, 34, was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was considered stable, but no further information about his condition was available.

Police said the shooting was gang-related.

• At 8:30 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in his leg in the 1000 block of North Massasoit Avenue in Austin, police said.

The man brought himself to Rush Oak Park Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

• Around 8 p.m., a 17-year-old was standing in the 6300 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue in Woodlawn when someone shot at him from a nearby car, police said.

The teen was shot in his leg and taken to Trinity Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

The teen did not cooperate with authorities after the shooting, police said.

• At 7:35 p.m., a 36-year-old man was shot in Little Village.

• At 7:30 p.m., a 29-year-old man was shot in his right leg in the 9300 block of South Lyon Avenue in Chatham, according to Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was considered "stable," Zala said.

Police did not immediately provide any other information on the shooting.

• At 6:50 p.m., three men were standing around a car in the 6300 block of South Eberhart Avenue in Woodlawn when someone shot at them from a passing gray sedan and fled east on 63rd Street, Zala said.

Two men, 18 and 22, were brought to area hospitals in good condition after being shot in their right legs, police said.

A third man, 50, was treated by paramedics on scene for a graze wound in his left leg, Zala said.

Police said the 22-year-old man is a documented gang member.

• Around 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, two men were standing in the 5000 block of West Concord Place in Austin when they heard gunshots and felt pain, Zala said.

One man, 21, was shot in his chest and brought to Stroger Hospital, where he was considered stable, Zala said.

The other man, 34, was taken to West Suburban Hospital, where he was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound in his right hand, police said.

Police said both men are documented gang members.

No one was in custody for any of the shootings, police said.
