WEST LOOP — Anthony Bourdain really loves Girl and the Goat.

The chef and television personality was on Reddit Tuesday to answer whatever questions users put to him and of course someone asked him about Chicago.

When asked what his favorite place to eat is in Chicago, Bourdain ran down his list.

“I love Girl and the Goat, I love Avec, I really like that restaurant,” Bourdain said.

He also plugged Johnnie’s Beef in west suburban Elmwood Park on his list of Chicago spots.

“Good stuff,” Bourdain said. “Any Chicago hot dog is the finest in the land, love that product.”

There are no real surprises on the list for fans of Bourdain’s many series, which have all made a stop in Chicago. But for a man who isn’t shy about his love of Chicago, it’s a chance to see which of the nearly 40 Chicago restaurants he’s filmed at he might actually go when the cameras are off.

“I dunno, Girl and the Goat I really love,” Bourdain said.

If there’s going to be a casual Bourdain spotting, it’s pretty likely then that it’s going to be on Randolph.

Avec, which was featured in “No Reservations,” and Girl and the Goat, which made it into “The Layover,” are a little more than a block from each other on Randolph Street.

Bourdain clearly likes Girl and the Goat chef Stephanie Izard and she’s shown up in Bourdain’s most recent episode about Chicago for “Parts Unknown.”

There is nothing Bourdain hates more than rude service, it seems.

“If you treat me like an idiot though and serve me crap with utter contempt, I can spiral into a serious depression for days and I will not be nice about it,” Bourdain said when asked about whether he’s ever refused food.
