CANARYVILLE — The production crew behind NBC's "Chicago P.D." will film a scene at the Canaryville Little League field Tuesday.

"We received a fantastic opportunity for the Little League to be showcased on the show," said John Kozlar, league president.

The journey to the filming session at 455 W. 45th Place began when Brian Luce, a Chicago Police officer and one of the show's technical advisers, pitched the historic little league ballpark as a potential setting for a future scene.

Over the last few weeks, "Chicago P.D." staffers scouted the Canaryville Little League as a possible location.

"We received a notification last week that they picked us up for a scene," Kozlar said. "Truly grateful for this opportunity, especially with the strong tradition of the league being around since 1953."

In an email newsletter, Kozlar encouraged neighborhood residents to stop by the field during the day Tuesday to "join in on the Hollywood fun."
