UPTOWN — After nine months of renovations, Nhu Lan will reopen in Weiss Plaza Friday, according to signs posted on the business.
The fire began around 2 p.m. Dec. 20 in the kitchen of Nhu Lan, according to its owner Lee Tran.
The front of the restaurant suffered smoke and water damage, but the fire was mostly contained to the kitchen, Tran said
There was no serious damage and no injuries were reported, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
KFC reopened in the plaza last month.
Nhu Lan offers Vietnamese cuisine such as banh mi, pho and vegetarian options. It has another location at 2612 W. Lawrence Ave. in Lincoln Square, according to its website.
