Hyde Park Revives Oktoberfest On Friday And Saturday

HYDE PARK — Hyde Park is reviving its fall festival full of beer and music after taking a year off.

After a year off, the neighborhood is again getting an Oktoberfest-style festival on Friday and Saturday.

This year’s festival, Brews, Brats and Brass, starts at 4 p.m. Friday at 53rd Street and Lake Park Avenue in front of the Hyde Park Bank.

The festival brings beer and cider and barbeque to Hyde Park for $10, which includes one drink coupon.

The previous iteration was Oktoberfest, which ran from 2010-2014, was a free festival in Nichols Park that coincided with the neighborhood pumpkin patch.

The revived festival continues the tradition of live bands and this year’s line-up includes:

Friday

Brian Sayles, 4 p.m.

Chicago Yestet, 5:45 p.m.

Fathom DJ, 7 p.m.

Big Shoulders Brass Band, 8:30 p.m.

Saturday

Paloma Chicago, noon

Contrabanda, 12:45 p.m.

DJ Sean Alvarez, 2 p.m.

J-Livi and the Party, 3:45 p.m.

Steve Miggedy Maestro, 5 p.m.

Amir Gray and the Gray Era Brass Band, 6:15p.m.

Low Down Brass Band, 8 p.m.
