EDGEWATER — Edgewater residents will have a chance to learn more about a proposed seven-story apartment building at 6145 N. Broadway during a meeting with developers and Ald. Harry Osterman (48th) on Thursday.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., representatives from City Pads LLC and Catapult Real Estate Solutions LLC will be on hand at the Broadway Armory, 5917 N. Broadway, to answer questions about the estimated $27 million project.

In August, developers and their team met with the community at the Edgewater Library to present their plans, which include 187 apartments — more than 80 percent studio-size renting from $1,250-$1,300 a month. One-bedrooms would be leased starting at $1,650 and two-bedrooms would rent for $2,100 said Andy Ahitow, a partner at City Pads and founder of Chicago Apartment Finders.

Sizes would average around 400 square feet, and 10 percent of apartments would be rented at discounted prices in accordance with Chicago's affordable housing laws, said Paul Dincin, a managing member at Catapult.

The building also would include 60 parking spaces that would rent for about $125 per month.

The building at 6145 N. Broadway could be built in about a year if approved, developers said. The property is now home to Superior Hand Car Wash & Detail Center.
