CHICAGO — Those who missed out on "Hamilton" tickets in Chicago have another chance.
Broadway In Chicago has quietly released more tickets to the smash hit musical before it makes its Chicago debut Sept. 27 at the PrivateBank Theatre, 18 W. Monroe St.
The venue didn't say how many new tickets are available, but they can be bought by visiting BroadwayinChicago.com, calling 800-775-2000, or visiting the theater's box office.
The new batch of tickets were reportedly returned from early bird buyers who nabbed more than the six tickets allowed per household, according to the Tribune.
Another block of tickets for performances from March 21 through September 2017 are also expected to be released soon, according to the report.
Spokespeople for Broadway in Chicago did not return messages seeking comment.
"Hamilton," a groundbreaking hip hopera about America's founding fathers, had already won 11 Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize by the time tickets went on sale here in June. Tickets to the best shows quickly sold out, with resellers promptly asking as much as $10,000 on websites such as StubHub.
The show also plans to allow CPS students to attend matinee performances of the show at steeply discounted prices thanks to a Rockefeller Foundation grant. Those details are expected to be announced in a few months.
