Trump vs. Hillary? How to Register to Vote in Chicago

CHICAGO — Hillary vs. Trump, Trump vs. Hillary. Or maybe Jill Stein or Gary Johnson?

Time to stop talking about it is Nov. 8, 2016, election day.

Wanna participate?

Early voting will begin at 69 W. Washington St. on Sept. 29 and expand to 51 more sites on October 24, according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.

But you have to be registered.

Here's how:

• The deadline for registering online is 11:59 p.m. on October 23. Click here.

• Applications for registering through the mail must postmarked October 23. Find the form here.

Registering in person at 69 W. Washington deadline is Nov. 7. You'll need two IDs. Hours and other details are here.

• On election day, you can register at your polling place. Here's how to find your polling place.

• Wondering if you're already registered but can't remember? Check here.

• To register to vote, you must:
 - be a U.S. citizen, and
 - be born on or before November 8, 1998, and
 - live in your precinct at least 30 days before the election, and
 - not claim the right to vote elsewhere; and
 - not be in prison/jail serving time for a conviction. (Ex-convicts who have completed their sentences and who meet all other requirements listed above are eligible to register and vote in Illinois.)
