LINCOLN PARK — Burnt City Brewing, formerly Atlas Brewing Co., unveiled its latest beer this week, which is made for fall nights.

The Oktoberfest Märzen, which was five years in the making, is now available at the brewpub, 2747 N. Lincoln Ave. Patrons can also try the beer at the brewpub's Oktoberfest event Thursday.

The 5.3-percent beer is made with German malt and hops, and is described as "a flavorful, quaffable amber lager," according to the brewer. The label has an illustration of a dinosaur on it.

“We’ve been making and fine-tuning this beer at the brewpub for the past five years, and it’s the first time we’re canning it,” Burnt City's co-founding brewer Ben Saller said in a statement.

“Oktoberfest is our favorite time of year to party hard, and we wanted the packaging to have a festive vibe. Also, we have a thing for dinosaurs.”

Oktoberfest Märzen is available in six-packs of 12-ounce cans as well as kegs.
