HYDE PARK — The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is seeking the public's help after a man attacked postal employees in Hyde Park.

Between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Thursday, a man assaulted and tried to rob employees at 5480 S. Harper Avenue, according to a Postal Service news release.

The man was 35-40 years old, black, 6-foot to 6-foot-1, 275-300 pounds and had a beard, the Postal Service said. He wore black clothes and drove west on Rochdale Place toward Blackstone Avenue after the attack.

Anyone with surveillance footage of the attack or information about the incident is asked to call Postal Inspectors at 312-983-7909 or 877-876-2455 or police at 312-747-8384.
