CHICAGO — A few of Gene Wilder's classic movies will play at North Side theaters as part of a tribute to the late comedic actor.

Both ArcLight Cinemas in Old Town and the Music Box Theatre in Lakeview will be screening a double feature of "Blazing Saddles" and "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" in the coming weeks.

Brew & View at the Vic Theatre will also screen "Blazing Saddles" this weekend.

Wilder, known for leading roles in those two films plus classics like "Young Frankenstein" and "The Producers," died Tuesday due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. He was 83.

Brew & View will be showing "Blazing Saddles" on Sept. 2 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 3 at 8:15 p.m.

ArcLight Cinemas, 1500 N. Clybourn Ave., will be showing "Willy Wonka" and "Blazing Saddles" on Sept. 3 and Sept. 4, the theater said in a news release. It did not say what times the films would be screened.

Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave., will be hosting a double feature of those two films on Sept. 13. "Willy Wonka" will start at 7 p.m. and "Blazing Saddles" will start at 9:15 p.m.
