HYDE PARK — The Hyde Park Community Players will hold a staged reading of Joan Didion’s “The Year of Magical Thinking” on Friday.

The community theater group will lead a reading of the one-woman play about a woman who loses her husband and daughter in the same year at 8 p.m. Friday at Augustana Lutheran Church, 5500 S. Woodlawn Ave.

Lauren Miller will perform with Bill Hohnke and Corinna Christman playing musical accompaniment.

Admission is $5 at the door.
