BRIDGEPORT — Punky's Pizza & Pasta, 2600 S. Wallace St., will give 10 percent of its Tuesday sales revenue to a relief fund for victims of the earthquake that rocked central Italy last week.

All day Tuesday, a chunk of the money from every dine-in, pickup and delivery will go toward a fund set up by the Joint Civic committee of Italian Americans, owner Vince Scarlata said.

Many of the restaurant's employees have friends and relatives who live near the region hit by the earthquake, Scarlata said.

"We're so blessed to have this restaurant, and our roots are in Italy," Scarlata said Tuesday. "So when you see the destruction that happened to them, and meanwhile you're so lucky, it's nice to give back."
