HYDE PARK — Chicago Public Schools students are about to get a lot of opportunities to go to the Museum of Science and Industry for free.

The museum, 5700 S. Lake Shore Drive, is participating in Chicago Museum Days and will be free all day on Wednesday for CPS students and one adult.

For its 10th year in a row, the museum is also giving free passes to every CPS student on the first day of school.

Each student will receive passes good for three adult or child admissions to the museum.

“When you think about the impact of this incentive, it’s a fantastic way to welcome so many local students and their families to MSI,” said David Mosena, the president and CEO of the museum, in a Monday announcement of the passes. “With every free museum pass, each child has a chance to find his or her passion in science, technology, engineering or medicine while visiting MSI.”

Illinois students continue to be free when they come to the museum on field trips and all K-12 teachers in Illinois receive free admission whenever they come to the museum.
