UPTOWN — Ald. Harry Osterman (48th) may have led a parade through the Argyle Streetscape announcing its completion Thursday, but there were still some remnants of construction, including gates and cones.
Weather permitting, the construction gates and cones should be removed by Friday at 5 p.m., Osterman said.
Over the next month, pay boxes for parking, planters and street signs will be installed along Argyle Street. And there is still work to be done along Winthrop Avenue, he said.
The parade and ribbon cutting was to celebrate the conclusion of Argyle Night Market, which has brought more than 20,000 people to Argyle Street over the summer increasing foot traffic and in turn making the area safer, Osterman said.
There will be another celebration during the fall when the Argyle Streetscape is completely finished.
