UPTOWN AND ANDERSONVILLE — Whether you're interested in cultivating peace or relaxing your body with some acupuncture, there's plenty to do this weekend in the neighborhoods.

Here's our list of five things to do in Uptown and Andersonville this weekend:

Book Signing at Women And Children First: The indie bookstore will celebrate the release of "Music For Wartime" and "The Life and Death of Sophie Stark" with a book signing, brief author reading and conversation about novel and short story writing. "Music For Wartime" is written by Rebecca Makkai, who also wrote "The Hundred-Year House" and "The Borrower." Published in 2015, "The Life and Death of Sophie Stark" was written by Anna North, a member of the New York Times editorial board, and won a Lambda Literary Award. Friday. 7:30 p.m. Women and Children First, 5233 N. Clark St.

Peacebook at Clarendon Park: Peacebook is "a collaborative, city-wide festival of theater, dance, music, visual art and spoken word — all focused on cultivating peace" hosted by Collaboraction Theatre Company. Each performance is a collection of seven pieces of theater, dance and spoken word, each seven minutes or less. Friday's festival features a beatboxing workshop hosted by Yuri Lane and a musical performance by Joe De Presser. Saturday's festival a tap workshop hosted by Bril Barrett and a musical performance by Nick Tremulis. Friday's schedule: Peace fairs and community meal at 6 p.m., workshops at 6:45 p.m. and musical performance at 7 p.m. Saturday's schedule: Dome of Dance at 5 p.m., Community Meal at 6 p.m., Peace Panel at 6:15 p.m., workshops at 6:45 p.m. and musical performance at 7 p.m. Free. 4501 N. Clarendon Ave.

Acupuncture and Meditation Workshop: Axis Lab will continue its eight-week summer arts education workshop series with a workshop focused on meditation and acupuncture. Saturday's class "Healing Space: A Gathering for Peace and Community will be hosted by Mia Lahoz. For more information on Axis Lab and the Catalyze series click here. 4956 N. Sheridan Rd. Saturday 4-6 p.m. Free. All ages welcome.

The Flat Five at the Green Mill: In 2010, The Flat Five was named the Best Cover Band That Plays One Gig A Year by the Chicago Reader. Saturday, it will perform from 8 p.m. until midnight at the Green Mill. The band features Kelly Hogan and Nora O'Connor providing vocals, Scott Ligon on piano and guitar, Casey McDonough on bass and Alex Hall on drums. $15 cover. 4802 N. Broadway. 8 p.m.

Shop At A New Store in Andersonville: Last Thursday, art supply store Martha Mae celebrated its grand opening in the former space of Vignette Vignette, 5407 N. Clark St. Also earlier this month, Francesca's, which sells women's clothing, handbags and accessories, opened at 5301 N. Clark St.
