LINCOLN PARK — A chef who got his start cooking in his college dorm room is the latest chef to take the helm of the ever-evolving concept Intro Restaurant.

Jonah Reider is known as the "dorm room chef" for starting elite New York restaurant Pith out of his Columbia University dorm room. He begins his one-month gig at Intro, 2300 N. Lincoln Park West, Sept. 15.

"He's a really bright young guy, and this visit completely dovetails into what Intro is all about — presenting something new, fun and unexpected to Chicago by a culinary talent who is also being mentored by Rich Melman and Chef Stephen," a spokesman for Intro wrote in a prepared statement.

Patrons can expect dishes like scallop crudo with Meyer lemon, charred ramp oil and rhubarb and confit duck leg with wild mushrooms, red quinoa and Chimichurri.

Reider will be offering a limited availability multi-course supper club Thursdays through Saturdays for $95 a person excluding beverages, tax and gratuity.

Patrons will also be able to order some of those dishes off Intro's a la carte menu in the main dining room.

Since opening in 2014, Intro has served as a training ground for up-and-coming chefs around the country, featuring a rotating roster for months at a time.

To make a reservation, visit Intro's website or call the restaurant directly at 773-868-0002.
