BUCKTOWN —  Not ready to go back indoors or think about fall?  We understand.

Here are a few ideas for keeping it simple and enjoyable without leaving the neighborhoods of Bucktown, Wicker Park, East and Ukrainian Villages this weekend.

Friday Night:

Help Victims of Sex Trafficking. Selah Freedom, a nonprofit group that rehabilitates survivors of human trafficking, is raising money for its Chicago expansion. A fundraiser party will offer drinks, art and music plus a raffle with prizes from Violet Hour, Big Star, Reckless Records, Permanent Records, Sprout, Ad hoc and more. A $5 donation gets a raffle ticket, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Paperish Mess, 1955 W. Chicago Ave.

Grab a Beer With Your Dog. "National Dog Day" is Friday and Lottie's Pub 3rd annual dog-friendly celebration will feature pet adoptions by Chicago Canine Rescue, grooming and Do-Fro-Yo frozen yogurt for dogs, $3 Vienna Beef Chicago hot dogs and beer specials. 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., 1925 W. Cortland St.

Cheer on Freelance Wrestlers. A group of wrestlers will match up against each other and Mustafa Ali will defend his title, plus there will be a "last man standing match and a TLC match for the Freelance Tag Titles," according to the event's Facebook page. Tickets cost $20-30. At 9 p.m. in Chop Shop's 1st Ward Events, 2033 W. North Ave.

Welcome Artist Tom Torluemke to Firecat Projects. Torluemke's exhibit, "Symptoms," features 36 satirical socio-political drawings and a site-specific installation piece examining societal ills and politics.
Friday's opening coincides with the release of Torluemke’s book, "SYMPTOMS: Satirical Drawings" too. Free, 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at Firecat Projects, 2124 N. Damen Ave.

Saturday:

Indulge in a Cheap Doughnut:  Stan’s Donuts & Coffee is celebrating founder Stan Berman’s 87th birthday by offering up the shop's signature yeast-raised, glazed donuts for 87-cents as a one-day-only treat. Additionally, the first 50 guests at all six city shops will receive a free T-Shirt too. Saturday's Wicker Park hours are 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., 1560 N. Damen Ave.

Find Unique Art in Bucktown. The Bucktown Arts Fest celebrates its 31st year with the sale of original works by nearly 200 artists, as well as live music, dancing, a craft beer tent and over a dozen food trucks, among other highlights. Free, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Senior Citizens Park, 2200 N. Oakley Ave., behind Holstein Park.

Shop for Sidewalk Deals. Fourteen shops will be participating in a "last call" summer sidewalk sale organized by the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce. From noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, locations vary.

Enjoy a Family-Friendly Block Party. Members of the East Village Association are hosting a public block party with "a bounce house, food, refreshment and fun", according to the event's Facebook page. All neighbors who live in the area are welcome. Free, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, on Winchester Avenue between Chicago Avenue and Iowa Street.

Sunday:

Go to Big Star's Last 'Grill Out' of the Summer.  Big Star’s final installation of its summer music and grilling series features bites from Chicago’s top female chefs and live music from bluegrass band, Henhouse Growlers. Guests will have a chance to win raffle items, including bar tools, speakers and swag. Proceeds from the event will benefit Growing Power, a nonprofit aimed at making healthy and affordable foods accessible to all communities. Prices are a la carte, first come, first served. From 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
