WICKER PARK — Stan’s Donuts & Coffee is celebrating founder Stan Berman’s 87th birthday by offering up the shop's signature yeast-raised, glazed donuts for 87 cents as a one-day-only treat.

And the first 50 customers at each of the city's six outposts on Saturday will get a free, limited edition T-shirt, according to the shop's Facebook page.

Stan's Donuts opened in 2014 at 1560 N. Damen Ave., next to the CTA Damen Blue Line L station in Wicker Park. The doughnut chain is an expansion of a Los Angeles-based staple brought to Chicago by local baker Rich Labriola.

Stan's original, plain glazed doughnuts normally cost $1.80 each or $19 for one dozen. The birthday special, which also brings the cost of a dozen plain glazed doughnuts down to $10.44, will be available from opening to close Saturday, while supplies last.

Along with Wicker Park, Stan's Donuts operates spots at 3300 N. Broadway Ave. and 2800 N. Clark St. in Lakeview; 259 E. Erie St. in Streeterville; 26 E. Roosevelt Road in The Loop; and 535 N. Michigan Ave. along Downtown's Magnificent Mile.
