LINCOLN PARK — Celebrity astrologist Angie Banicki is hosting "tarot yoga" classes this weekend in Lincoln Park.
The classes are set for Saturday and Sunday in the field north of North Pond, 2610 N. Cannon Drive, each day beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Tarot yoga is essentially tarot card reading mixed with meditation.
Banicki will do short readings based on each participant's "card of the day" card, and then the group can ask more questions before meditating during a traditional yoga session.
The DeKalb native was an entertainment publicist before she started reading tarot cards full-time.
"I remember at one point bringing Dustin Hoffman and Adrian Grenier to a BlackBerry launch event in L.A.; flying to Houston the next morning for a Super Bowl event and a Playboy party with Bradley Cooper, Alyssa Milano, and Kristen Cavallari; and flying to New York City the next morning for another BlackBerry event with Seth Meyers and Julianne Moore," Banicki wrote in Cosmopolitan.
Banicki has been hired by everyone from Usher to Gwenyth Paltrow to do readings. Introductory sessions usually cost around $300.
This weekend's classes are free, but there is a suggested donation of $15. Participants must bring their own mats. All fitness levels are welcome.
