NORWOOD PARK — If you've been looking for a good excuse to sample 50 beers — or 50 wines — in one night, you're in luck.

Tickets are on sale for the ninth annual Stems and Steins, which will take place from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10.

The event raises money for the Norwood Park Historical Society, which works to preserve the Noble Seymour Crippen House, the oldest house in Chicago, 5624 W. Newark Ave. Tickets are $55 until Sept. 1, when the cost rises to $65.

Chicago's Foremost Liquor Center will provide tastes of 50 craft and international beers as well as 50 wines from around the world. Appetizers and desserts designed to highlight the beer and wine will be served during the event outside the Noble Seymour Crippen House in Norwood Park.

The event will also feature a silent auction of restaurant and event gift certificates, cooking and kitchen items, beer gift baskets, sports memorabilia, games, artwork and wine gift baskets, organizers said. A cash-only raffle will also take place. Tickets are two for $5, organizers said.

Stems and Steins is the historical society's largest fundraiser. Attendees must be 21 or older, organizers said.
