Man, 27, Rescued From Diversey Harbor Tuesday Has Died, Officials Say

LINCOLN PARK — The man whom fire crews rescued from Diversey Harbor late Tuesday afternoon has died, authorities said.

Around 3:25 p.m., the man, 27, jumped into the Lake Michigan at Diversey Harbor, in the 2700 block of North Lake Shore Drive, with a group of friends and did not emerge, according to Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Fire and police crews found the man and transported him to Presence Saint Joseph Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said.

No other information was immediately available.
