THE LOOP — It'll be another hot and humid week for Chicago.

Temperatures are expected to climb past 90 degrees beginning Wednesday, peaking on Thursday with a high of 92 degrees, said AccuWeather senior meteorologist Dave Dombek. The heat wave should continue into Friday, hitting 91 degrees before tapering off during the weekend.

Thursday could feel like 105 degrees due to high levels of humidity, Dombek said.

"It will be very, very uncomfortable," Dombek said. "And at times it can even feel oppressive with the humidity combined."

Although this relatively short-lived heat wave is "nothing out of the ordinary," Dombek warned people should refrain from overexertion, especially when the heat is at its peak late afternoon.

The hottest day so far this summer in Chicago was July 24, when the temperatures hit 94 degrees.
