BRONZEVILLE — A 30-year-old man was hospitalized with cuts after another man, 55, brandished a knife in a fight on the Red Line Monday morning, police said.

At 6:10 a.m., the men were riding the train near the 47th Street station in Bronzeville when they got into an argument, and the older man pulled out a knife, according to Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The ensuing struggle left the younger man with cuts on his neck and right elbow, Tannehill said. He was brought to Stroger Hospital, where he was considered "stable."

The older man, who also suffered a minor cut on his hand, was brought into custody, Tannehill said.

Police said the men were acquaintances, and they were both intoxicated at the time of the dispute.
