Austin Shootings Wound 2 Men, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings in Austin left two men wounded on Saturday, police said.

• At 1:13 p.m., a 30-year-old man was in the 500 block of North Lamon Avenue when he was shot in his upper and lower back, said Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man drove himself to a Chicago Firehouse in the 4900 block of West Chicago Avenue. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," Tannehill said.

• At 10 a.m., a 55-year-old man was in the 4900 block of West Crystal Street when he was shot in his head, Tannehill said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in unknown condition, Tannehill said.

No one was in custody.
