Shootings Wound 7 People Since Thursday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Seven people have been wounded in shootings since Thursday, police said.

• At 3:17 a.m. Friday, a 16-year-old boy and 25-year-old man were shot in Lakeview.

• At 12:05 a.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in North Lawndale, police said. The man said he was robbed by two men who shot him in the 4000 block of West 13th Street, police said.

The man was hit in his back, police said. He took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in serious condition.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

• At 11:30 p.m. Thursday, a 39-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. The man was sitting in a parked car in the 700 block of North Lavergne Avenue when another car pulled up and someone inside fired shots.

The man was hit in his left leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. His condition was not available, but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 9:50 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. The man was standing in the parking lot of a business in the 5600 block of West Division Street when a man in black clothing walked up to him, took out a gun and fired shots.

The victim was hit in his right leg. He was taken to West Suburban Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 8:20 p.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in Garfield Park, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was in the 3500 block of West Flournoy Street when he was shot in his buttocks.

The man took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," Amezaga said.

• At 4:30 p.m., a 17-year-old was shot in Back of the Yards.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
