KENWOOD — A 14-year-old boy was shot in his leg two blocks from President Barack Obama's home in Kenwood Tuesday night, police said.

At 9:53 p.m., the boy was sitting on a front porch in the 5000 block of South Drexel Boulevard when someone shot at him from a passing black van, according to Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The boy was taken to Comer Children's Hospital with a gunshot wound in his left leg, Amezaga said. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."

No one is in custody, police said.
