Englewood, Chatham Shootings Wound 5 People, Police Say

CHICAGO — Five people, including two teenage boys, have been wounded in shootings in Englewood and Chatham since Wednesday, police said.

• At 2:14 a.m. Thursday, a 15-year-old boy was shot in Englewood, police said. The boy was walking down the street in the 6600 block of South Halsted Street when he heard shots and felt pain.

The boy was hit in his foot and was taken to Comer Children's Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 12:56 a.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in Chatham, police said. The man was sitting in a car in the 8800 block of South Princeton Avenue when someone fired shots at the car.

The back of the man's neck was grazed by a bullet. He was taken to Trinity Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 7:15 p.m., a 29-year-old man was shot in Englewood, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was outside in the 1200 block of West 72nd Place when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his lower left leg and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, Amezaga said.

• At 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, a 21-year-old man was shot in Englewood, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman. The man was walking in the 6000 block of South Wood Street when he was shot in his buttocks.

The man was taken to Holy Cross Hospital. His condition was not available, but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 11:15 a.m., a 15-year-old boy was shot in his buttocks in Englewood.

No one was in custody in the shootings.
