Rash Of Lincoln Park Armed Robberies Spark Police Warning

LINCOLN PARK — Lincoln Park residents should be on alert after five armed robberies in late July, police said. 

In each incident, two men approached a victim, took out a handgun and stole valuables.

The incidents happened on:

• July 24 in the 1200 Block of West Belden Avenue around 5 p.m.

• July 27 in the 1700 Block of North Cleveland Avenue around 7 a.m.

• July 28 in the 1600 Block of North Burling Street around 10:30 p.m.

• July 30 in the 1900 Block of North Clybourn Avenue around 5:00 p.m.

• July 30 in the 2000 Block of North Dayton Street around 12:00 a.m.

Police describe one of the suspects as an black man between 20 and 23 years old, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, weighing between 140 and 160 pounds with a short hairstyle and medium complexion.

The other suspect is described as a black man between 20 and 23 years old, between 5-foot-11 and 6-feet tall, weighing between 140 and 160 pounds with a medium hairstyle and a dark brown complexion.
