UPTOWN — The neighborhood's first poke and sushi bowl restaurant could open its doors anytime in the next week, according to its owner.

Pokiology, 4600 N. Magnolia Ave., Suite C, is just waiting on the City to conduct its health inspection, according to its owner Mark Nguyen.

"As soon as the city gives us the green light, we will open the day after," said Nguyen, adding that the health inspection could happen as soon as Thursday or Aug. 2.

The quick service restaurant offering the Hawaiian staple dish first announced it would be opening at the location next door to the new home of Baker and Nosh earlier this month.

The concept for the restaurant comes from similar businesses in California, said Nguyen, who moved from California to Rogers Park about a year ago to partner with his brother on Angry Crab, 5665 N. Lincoln Ave.

The restaurant will feature a Chipotle-style service line and will have seating for 16 to 20 people. Meals will range from $10 for a regular portion to $16 for a large portion, he said.

Meals will feature rice and salad topped with a protein such as tuna, salmon or shrimp.
