KENWOOD — Fresh from her appearance at the Democratic National Convention, first lady Michelle Obama is expected to be in Chicago through Sunday.

Obama is expected to be in Chicago sometime between Tuesday and Sunday and will be staying at the family home in Kenwood, according to neighboring synagogue, K.A.M. Isaiah Israel, which was told by U.S. Secret Service to prepare for extra security while the first lady is in town.

The White House did not respond to repeated requests for details about Obama’s visit home.

Obama was in Philadelphia Monday to give a speech at the Democratic National Convention.

If Obama is in Chicago through Sunday, she would miss the remainder of the speakers at the convention, including her husband, President Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden and the expected Democratic nominee for president, Hillary Clinton.
