LINCOLN PARK — A pair of new restaurants are joining the massive New City complex, including one that this year made Chicago Magazine's best-of list.
Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya, which recently won "Best Ramen" from Chicago Magazine, is slated to open in the complex, 1500 N. Clybourn Ave., sometime this fall.
It will be the second Chicago location for the Japan-based chain, which opened its first in Wicker Park at 1482 N. Milwaukee Ave. earlier this year.
If the new location is like the Wicker Park one, patrons can expect more than 10 different kinds of ramen with at least four different broths, as well as the option of customizing your own bowls.
The second restaurant coming to New City is The Melt, a San Francisco-based fast casual sandwich spot, which serves customizable grilled cheese sandwiches and burgers.
When it opens sometime this summer, it will be the first Chicago location for The Melt.
The complex is home to several retailers and restaurants, including the city's largest Mariano's, Earl's Kitchen & Bar, Yard House and Nando's Peri-Peri. That, paired with entertainment venues like Kings Bowl and ArcLight Cinemas, gives the complex a "city within a city" feel.
