Anthony Nicholas, 38, Shot To Death In South Shore, Police Say

SOUTH SHORE — A 38-year-old man was shot to death in South Shore Tuesday evening, police said.

The man was shot in his chest in the 6700 block of South East End Avenue, according to Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago Police spokesman.  The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Anthony Nicholas, of the same block.

Nicholas was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Zala said.

A man is in custody, police said.

Police could not immediately provide any further information on the shooting.
