MIDWAY — A private jet from the future just made an appearance at Midway International Airport.

The word "slick" doesn't even begin to describe this thing. Set to hit the skies in 2019, Gulfstream's new G600 is a flying vessel for executives and billionaires with bank accounts big enough to even get close to one of these things.

Just how much does it cost to own one? $56 million.

Gulfstream bosses have been traveling to airports all over the country showing off the G600's new interior. They recently stopped at Midway with a model of the plane (no wings, engines or tail).

Here are some of the crazy things we learned about the G600:

• Passengers can command nearly all cabin conditions with an app called Gulfstream Cabin Control. With a few taps of a finger, passengers can control lights, music, temperature and window shades.

• No two Gulfstream jets are alike. When you buy a Gulfstream G600, a designer will help you build a floor plan unique to you. As long as your requests are deemed safe by federal flying standards, any layout is possible.

•  At 96 feet long with a wingspan of 95 feet, a Gulfstream G600 can carry up to 19 passengers.

•  This plane can travel a maximum distance of 6,200 miles at a cruising altitude of 51,000 feet.
