LINCOLN PARK — Two men are facing criminal charges after beating a man and trying to rob him in Lincoln Park early Friday, police said.
Around 2 a.m. Friday, a 26-year-old man was walking in the 400 block of West Deming Place when two men came up from behind and punched him in his head and body, knocking him to the sidewalk, according to police.
The men ran off after unsuccessfully attempting to steal the man's property. He was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, but police were unable to provide his condition, saying he was "stable."
Officers responded to the victim's 911 call and were able to arrest two suspects using his description.
William Brown, 29, and Keith Williams, 23, both of the 4000 block of North Sheridan Road, were charged with battery, a misdemeanor, police said.
