HYDE PARK — Local Mexican sandwich restaurant Cemitas Puebla is moving into the former Packed dumpling location on 57th Street.

Owner Tony Anteliz told Eater Thursday that he had taken over the lease for 1321 E. 57th St. and was working on a third location for Cemitas Puebla, which could be open within a few months.

Anteliz was not immediately available for comment.

Packed closed in May after less than five months in the neighborhood amidst complaints of high prices in a part of neighborhood that caters to University of Chicago students, staff and faculty.

The new Hyde Park Cemitas Puebla would be the third location. The sandwich restaurant currently has locations in the West Loop at 817 W. Fulton Market and in Humboldt Park at 3129 W. Armitage Ave.

Both of those locations are open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
